Provenance

Found in the Samaria, Jerusalem private collection, 1980s.
A wide-bodied jar that tapers to a small foot with squat extension to the jar, two handles are placed at either side of the upper body of the piece, with a third longer slender handle on the back extending from the neck to the body of the container. The neck itself is elongated and then flared to create a wide lip, which is then decorated with a single line of yellow glass. The body itself was formed upside down on a core, then decorated with white, yellow and blue glass and then patterned accordingly while still hot. Over the whole example, a lovely silvery patina is present.
